I was born at the foot of the volcano and raised on it — Mount Etna. I hold a degree in Geology from the University of Catania and I am registered with the Regional Order of Geologists of Sicily. I work as a freelance professional in the fields of Geology and Hydrogeology.
Registered with the Regional Association of Alpine and Volcanological Guides of Sicily, registration number IT82D00041, I am a certified Volcanological Guide.
I have a deep passion for sports, especially running and cycling.
I’ve been walking on these lava fields my entire life — this is where I was born.
As a Volcanological Guide, I would love to accompany you and let you experience the scent of the volcano and its powerful emotions. Mount Etna has no limits, neither in time nor in space, just like the fire of its eruptions.
The smell of sulfur, the wind, and the silence of the trails will lead you into the mysterious world of this “mountain.”
You may feel like you’ve conquered it — but in reality, it will be the one to conquer you.
“A true journey is not about seeking new lands, but about seeing with new eyes.”

My name is Marco. Nature and mountains are my greatest passion.
I am a Volcanological Guide, with a degree in Geophysics applied to environmental protection.
I grew up on Mount Etna from a very young age, thanks to my parents, who managed the Rifugio Sapienza of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI) for over thirty years.
I have personally experienced all the most significant eruptions that have affected my volcano over the past 50 years.
I will share my story with you — a story that will become yours, one to tell.
